Profiles you will hear

The ready-made profiles the wizard compares, and the profiles it saves.

During Tuning, the wizard plays ready-made profiles in pairs. You always see the profile's number and name on its button, for example Profile 3 with Enhanced Speech Clarity beneath it.

Ready-made profiles

ProfileName
Profile 1Light Speech Clarity
Profile 2Speech Clarity
Profile 3Enhanced Speech Clarity
Profile 4Louder and Slight Clarity
Profile 5Louder and Fuller
Profile 6Strong Speech
Profile 7Stronger Speech

Your answers to the questions decide which of these you hear. Two people can be offered different pairs.

The test audio profile

While you set your volume on the Audio Test screen, the wizard plays the recording through a neutral reference profile named Flat Profile. This gives you an unprocessed starting point. If another profile is active, a Switch to Flat Profile link appears.

Profiles the wizard saves

When you save, SonicCloud adds a new profile and shows its name, for example:

Suggested nameWhen you see it
Profile 6 with BoostAfter you raise Boost on a base profile
Fine Tuned Profile 1After the first round of fine tuning
Fine Tuned Profile 2After a second round

You can change any suggested name before you save. If a name is already in use, the wizard asks for another.

Next: Hearing aids and cochlear implants.
