Before you begin
Get ready for the most accurate tuning result.
A few minutes of preparation make the result noticeably better.
Checklist
- Use headphones or earbuds. Speakers pick up room noise and do not let you set each ear separately.
- Prefer a wired connection. Wired audio responds instantly. Wireless audio adds a small delay that can throw off how adjustments sound, especially if your hearing differs between ears.
- Choose a quiet place. Background noise makes small differences harder to hear.
- Plug in or pair your headphones now. The wizard checks your connection and tells you what it finds.
- Set aside five minutes. You can go back a step at any time, but each step is quick.
What the wizard tells you about your connection
On the welcome screen, the wizard shows one of three messages:

|---|---|
| Wired device connected | You are set. |
| Wireless device connected. Wired headphones work best. | You can continue, but wired headphones give a more accurate result. |
| A wired connection is recommended | SonicCloud could not identify your device. Check that your headphones are plugged in or paired. |
If your ears differ
If your hearing is noticeably different in each ear, use wired headphones. Later steps let you adjust the left and right ears on their own, and wired audio keeps those adjustments accurate.
