Tuning Wizard
A guided listening session that builds a SonicCloud profile matched to your hearing.
The Tuning Wizard is the quickest way to personalize SonicCloud. In about five minutes you answer a few simple questions, compare sounds, and save a profile that fits the way you hear.
The Tuning Wizard is available in both the online and offline editions. You do not need to know anything about audio or your own hearing test results. If you are unsure of an answer, the wizard says so and carries on.
Why it matters
Turning the volume up does not always make speech clearer. Many people hear loudness well but lose the detail that separates one word from another. The wizard looks for the combination of loudness and clarity that works for you, rather than applying one setting to everyone.
How it works
The wizard moves through five steps, shown along the top of the window.

| Setup | You connect headphones, and play a short test recording at a comfortable volume. |
| Basic | You answer a few questions about your hearing. |
| Clarify | You answer questions about how clearly you follow speech. |
| Tuning | You listen to profiles in pairs and choose the one that sounds better. |
| Fine Tuning | You adjust individual sliders for each ear, save, and compare once more. |
Your answers decide which profiles you hear and which questions come next, so two people can have quite different sessions.
What you need
Headphones or earbuds, ideally wired, about five minutes, and a quiet place. See Before you begin.

Compare profiles and choose the better one.

Save and finish
Name your profile and start using it.
Start the wizard
Right-click the SonicCloud icon in the notification area of the taskbar and choose Tuning Wizard. It also runs the first time you set up SonicCloud.
