Troubleshooting
Fix common audio, device, Bluetooth, installation and licensing problems.
Try the first fix in each section, then work down the list.
Audio and processing
- Make sure the device you are listening on is the one SonicCloud is set up for. Open Select Devices from the Devices menu in the notification area. 2. Choose Enable Processing on Default Playback Devices from the same menu and wait a few seconds. 3. In Select Devices, choose a different option next to your device, select Apply, and check that the light turns green. 4. Play audio and move Boost up and down. You should hear a difference in loudness.
SonicCloud follows your default playback device in your system sound settings. After you change it, wait a moment for processing to become ready, or choose Enable Processing on Default Playback Devices.
The message asks you to configure your audio device with Select Devices and to use the same device for listening. If you are sure the devices are right, try enabling the additional processing options shown in Select Devices, then apply again.
Set the volume control in the SonicCloud window to a comfortable level, then adjust Comfort and Boost. See Sliders.
Raise Consonants, Vowels and Sharpness a little, one at a time, or run the Tuning Wizard.
In Select Devices, use the option to disable all other processing, then apply.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth headsets often switch to a separate Hands-Free audio mode during calls, and SonicCloud may not process that mode. Try wired headphones for calls, or choose the headset's Hands-Free device in the call app's speaker settings. See Bluetooth headphones.
Choose Enable Processing on Default Playback Devices from the notification-area menu, or switch the default device away and back.

Account and licensing
Check that you typed your email and password correctly. The login window shows "Email is empty!" when the email field is blank. If you forgot your password, choose Forgot Password?. This applies to the online edition.
Check for extra spaces and confirm the key was issued for your organization. If it still fails, contact your administrator.
Expired licenses, seats and unreachable license services: see Offline troubleshooting.
Installation problems
Run it as an administrator, and close other installers. For organizations, see the exit codes.
Open Preferences and select Open at login. See Preferences.
Look for the SonicCloud icon in the notification area, or open it from the Start menu.
Still stuck?
