Sliders
What each SonicCloud slider does and when to use it.
Each profile has seven sliders. Move a slider up to increase its effect and down to reduce it. Choose Left, Right or Both first to decide which ear you are changing.
Tip
Play something you know well while you adjust. Small moves are usually enough, and you can always return to a saved profile.
Overview
| Slider | What it does | Reach for it when |
|---|---|---|
| Comfort | Finds a comfortable listening level before detailed tuning. | Sound is too quiet or too strong overall. |
| Boost | Raises or lowers the volume of the profile in each ear independently, while keeping speech clear. | One ear sounds louder, or everything is too quiet. |
| Sharpness | Increases sharpness and clarity for speech. High sounds such as s and f become crisper. | Speech sounds dull or muffled. |
| Richness | Adds warmth and breadth when raised. Sound becomes sharper and more pinched when lowered. | Voices sound thin, or too full. |
| Consonants | Improves how clearly mid-range consonants such as t and k are heard. | You can hear speech but struggle to tell words apart. |
| Vowels | Improves how clearly vowels such as a, e and o are heard. | Voices lack body or are hard to follow. |
| Fullness | Moves the sound between more compressed and more open and full. | You want the overall feel to be tighter or more spacious. |
Adjusting each ear
Your ears may need different settings. Select Left or Right to set one ear at a time, then Both to make shared changes. Setting each ear on its own is especially helpful for Boost, Sharpness and Consonants.
Save what you like
Slider changes apply immediately. To keep them, select Save to update the profile, or Save As to create a new profile. See Profiles.
Not sure where to start?
The Tuning Wizard sets these for you based on what you hear, and you can fine-tune afterward.
